Many of Australia’s leading tuberculosis specialists and advocates will join together to acknowledge 2018 World TB Day at an event at Parliament House, Canberra, on Tuesday, 27 March.
Burnet Institute is an official supporter of the event entitled Wanted: Leaders For A TB-Free World. You Can Make History. End TB to be hosted by Results Australia, TB Forum and the Australian TB Caucus – a group of parliamentarians with an interest in TB.
Key presenters include the Minister for International Development, Senator the Hon Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, and Senator Clare Moore.
Journalist and advocate Jo Chandler will facilitate a diverse panel of researchers, people affected by TB, and program providers including Burnet Deputy Program Director, Health Security, Dr Suman Majumdar, Dr Kerri Viney (TB Forum chair and TB researcher) and Ms Ingrid Schoemann (TB Proof and TB survivor).
The panel discussion will highlight the advances and challenges of reaching the ambitious goal of TB elimination.
