JOIN OUR ALLIANCE
The Global Health Alliance Melbourne (GLHAM) has the potential to establish Melbourne as a global leader in health and development innovation and for this reason I have agreed to chair its foundation committee.
Within 2016, we have made great progress in establishing the Alliance. In March, we kicked off with a round table discussion with key stakeholders working in the global health space, to discuss the value proposition of establishing a Melbourne-based Alliance. A number of people from that meeting responded positively and expressed their interest in being part of the establishment phase of the Alliance. In keeping momentum, we established a foundation committee and held our first meeting in early July. Members to the foundation group include representatives from Melbourne-based global health focussed organisations and institutes form across public, private, not-for profit, academic and biomedical scientific communities. Since that meeting, we have made great gains through widening the support base of the Alliance, and extending links to State and Local government.
Given the significant role your organisation and Melbourne play in health internationally, I hope very much that your organisation will be supportive of it playing an active role in the GLHAM. I encourage you, as members and partners of the Alliance, to provide inputs and suggestions into the Alliance strategy as the opportunity unfolds over the coming months.
